Summer Resistance Skating Begins July 6th
The summer Resistance Skating program begins July 6th at the Ben Franklin Park Superdome. It will be the first program in Ottawa that will incorporate on ice training with superior dry land conditioning in the same training sessions.
This innovative indoor synthetic ice will allow hockey players to focus on the most important part of their game without the high cost of renting an arena. Sessions will focus on acceleration, quickness, change of direction, and turning. The off ice portion of the training will include strength training specifically for hockey. The program will be focused on increasing leg and core strength with programs designed by Strength Coach Lorne Goldenberg. Lorne has been working in the area of hockey conditioning for over 25 years and his concepts and the ACC philosophy has set the industry standard in that time.
The on ice component will be run by John Ollson and the Ollson Sports Group. John is a former Ottawa 67, and NHL draft pick and is well renowned for his skating instruction. Ollson Sports Group employs a number of qualified instructors to deliver the variety of programs offered by OSG Hockey. The team is trained by Director of Programs, John Ollson.
The primary training tool used is mentoring, our instructors spend hours learning and developing their skills in order to lead OSG programs. New drills, strategies and techniques are reviewed and incorporated into the session plans for each program delivered.
