Ottawa Minor Midget AAA Recognized

There was an article in the Ottawa Citizen regarding the state of AAA hockey in the city and the high caliber of talent represented. Of special note, Ottawa Jr. 67's goaltender Dean Sheperdson was mentioned in the article for his outstanding performance during the Ontario Hockey League Showcase Cup in Mississauga. Fellow ACC athlete Corey Durocher of the Minor Midget AAA Senators was in the top 20 scorers in the Showcase with eight points in seven games.

April is the Crunch Time for Canoe/Kayak

Members of the Canadian Whitewater Canoe/Kayak National and Development team will be traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Olympic Qualifying races the last weekend of April. National team members John Hastings, James Cartwright, and Sarah Potvin will be battling hard to represent Canada in Beijing this summer. Other team members and ACC athletes include Cameron Smedley, Julian Potvin, Spencer Pomeroy, and Adam and Jamie Cutts.

ACC Skiers Race in the Standingspat-biggs

Ryan Semple and Pat Biggs, members of the Canadian Men's Alpine Ski Team finished off a great ski season by placing fourth and sixth respectively in the men's slalom during the Canadian Championships. The championships were held in Le Relais, Que. Pat Biggs has been training at the ACC since he was 15 years old.

Woodcock Signs with Ti-Cats

CFL athlete and ACC athlete Pat Woodcock is returning to Ontario to play for the Hamilton Tiger Cats this season. After spending 2 years with the Edmonton Eskimos, Pat has signed with the Ti-Cats for the 2008 season. Pat is looking forward to the opportunity and has said "Hamilton has made a lot of changes since the end of last season, with at least a couple more coming with the CFL Draft in April. I'm excited about our players, and there are some new coaches as well that I look forward to working with". This off-season, Pat has been training with a combination of heavy lifts coupled with explosive training to increase up his strength and power.

ACC Swimmers Excel in the Pool

Former ACC athletes are swimming to success! Brent Dillon was on the podium numerous times with a gold in the boys' 15-year-old 200-metre individual medley, two silvers, and a bronze. Madison Cook and Jenna York swam to a silver medal finish in the 15-17 200-metre medley and bronze medal in the 15-17 400-metre medley.
